Service for 8 of Holmes & Edwards Inlaid Silverplate with Orginal Chest in Spring Garden Pattern 1949.
Set consist of 8 Dinner knifes, 8 Dinner forks, 8 Salad forks, 11 Teaspoons, 7 Tablespoons, 2 large serving spoon, 1 sugar spoon and 1 Master Butter knife.
This set is in very good condition with only the 2 large serving spoons showing much wear in the bowls. Salad forks look like they were used very little.
Each piece is marked Holmes & Edwards Inlaid IS.

The chest is in good shape with a little paint missing on the top as you can see in the pictures and has a small crack on left top 1.5" from back and 5" long.

Inlaid flatware has more silver on it than silverplate, but is not solid sterling. It is higher quality than silverplate, and you can see it when you look at it.
It really looks like sterling, and the only way you can tell it is not is by reading the hallmark, which states Holmes and Edwards Inlaid IS.
